Job Description: Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager
Location: Hanover, MD
Schedule: Full-Time, Fully Onsite
Compensation: $90,000-$95,000 + ~10% Performance Bonus
About the Opportunity
A growing construction organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager to support major upcoming system implementations and strengthen the finance function.
With significant system upgrades underway, this position offers the opportunity for accelerated career growth, including the potential to move into a Controller role within the next 12 months for a high-performing candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and help lead two major system implementations:
- SAGE Intacct ERP rollout
- ADP Workforce Now payroll migration
- Assist in developing new accounting processes and improving operational efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a small accounting team.
- Oversee core accounting areas including:
- Fixed assets
- Depreciation
- Intercompany accounting
- Partner closely with leadership on financial reporting, month-end close, and ongoing operational needs.
- Support construction accounting functions and contribute to a multi-entity environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong accounting background with supervisory or lead-level experience.
- Experience in construction accounting OR experience working with robust ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.).
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Hanover, MD.
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP or payroll system implementations.
- Construction industry experience.
- Familiarity with SAGE Intacct or ADP Workforce Now (not required).
